About

I was born and brought up in Birmingham and gained a music degree at Sussex University, followed by a postgraduate performers’ course at the Royal College of Music. I enjoy a busy and varied career as a freelance trumpet player, teacher, composer, arranger, writer and examiner.

As a child, I loved art, but music ended taking over my life. Over the last few years, in an attempt to readdress my work-life balance, I resumed drawing. After posting my pictures on Facebook, I started receiving commissions and art has become a flourishing sideline.

I live in Surrey, am married to Sian and have four children – Ben, Oli, Elin and Tess. I enjoy mountain biking in the Surrey Hills and watching Aston Villa.
